My fridge and freezer wont cool...I have a GE Profile....Model pfs22sisbss..freeze is in bottom...ice slowly stopped working..fridge slowly stopped cooling...I have a click noise near the compressor but that all......
Hi my name isXXXXX have been an appliance repair tech since 1992. If you hear a click noise come one every minute or so, it is either a relay that has shorted or opened up, or a locked compressor. Without the compressor function, there will be no cooling.
The cheapest way to find out is to simply replace the start relay on the compressor. If it does not start after, then the compressor would need changing. And in most cases it would not be economical to do the repair. In most cases also the compressor locked up due to a freon leak, which could mean you could have an evaporator leaking and compressor locked.

Compressor: WR87X10211 MSRP $302.00
Evaporator: WR85X10057 MSRP $459.00

Labor depending on area rates between $200-$300.00

The relay is part# XXXXX $65.25

Remove the back panel and locate the compressor and you should see this part.
If this just failed and you can replace it would be your best choice to start.

I hope this helps you:
