I have an LG lmx28984 French door, bottom freezer unit. 3 yrs. old. Started getting dH codes, opened it up, everything around the evaporator all ice. Defrosted it. Defroster heater element tests ok w/ ohmeter. Re-assembled, now on restart, there is one firm "POOF" out of the icemaker along with a very short blink of its light, then a d I (or d 1) code, and no water or ice. Fridge and freezer seem to be working well otherwise.
You need to replace the defrost controller which is the part that is attached to the side of the evaporator coil with the 4 wires.. the Thermal fuse it contains has opened. It comes as a complete assembly just as you see it.
