My washing machine (Model GW712) gets halfway through the rinse

This answer was rated:

My washing machine (Model GW712) gets halfway through the rinse cycle then stops and continuously beeps until I turn it off. After many attempts to get it restarted on the rinse cycle it goes to the spin cycle but then stops. It sounds like it is pumping water out but as it tries to build up spin speed it whirs and stops. Does this sound like something that is repairable?
Yes this is repairable. It sounds lie the diverter valve is bad.

Is this something my husband can replace if I can source the part?

Are you able to assist with sourcing the part?

Customer: replied 4 years ago.

I have found a few diverter valves on line, could you please be a little more specific.

If your husband is handy then yes he can replace this. The diverter valve is on the bottom right back corner of the tub. If youu pull the washer forward about 2 feet then tip it back it will balance against the wall so you can work under it. The diverter valve has 3 hoses and 2 wires connected to it. The part number you need is 426862P
