I have a GE gas cooktop M#JGP989BK2BB the customer spilled water when cleaning and now the fan stays on. I diagnosed it as a faultly fan switch. The problem is the motors overload capacitor cracked and was leaking some lead or whaver that stuff is thats in there. I can not find a replacement anywhere. Can I use an equaly rated one and just wire it? The capacitor is a Vim. MEC12B [7.5] uf.u 370c vac 85c mosh(II)
Hello. Thank you for choosing Just Answer. I will be helping you with your question today.

You could use any capacitor as long as it is rated the same or close to.
