Is the fan inside the freezer working ?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

yes .. the fan is working as i can hear it....

Is there any frost on the inside back wall of the freezer ?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

there is a very fine coat in some areas...not anything measureable

I'm going to need you to remove the inside back wall of the freezer and check the coil for frost build up. The wall is just held with screws. Let me know what you find.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

i have ice build up on the coils

This indicates there is a problem with the self defrost. Do you own a multi meter ?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

no...i just now unplugged the unit to let it defrost

You can use a hair dryer to speed the process up.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

after the coils are defrosted.....should i expect everything to be normal again

No this will happen in about 10 days again. That is what we wanted the meter for so we could determine the exact problem. All i can do is tell you the most common problem is the control board being bad. It is inside the fridge compartment. It is inside the control panel.
