GE Triclean Quiet power. There is a minor leak from the bottom

This answer was rated:

GE Triclean Quiet power. There is a minor leak from the bottom of the door onto the floor, not major but enough to cause concern. Can't figure it out, perhaps a door gasket is cracked or unglued???

Had a problem last week in that the dishwasher would not empty itself of water - changed the piston valve and removed a porcelain cup handle from the pump and the dishwasher works well now except for the leak.

Help please?

Hello. Thank you for choosing Just Answer. I will be helping you with your question today. Start the dishwasher and then once it starts to leak pause it and open the door. If the door looks wet on the outer edge pat where the door seal seals then yes you have a bad door gasket. If that is dry look at the water and see if there are suds on the top. If you have suds run a cleaner through the dishwasher.

the door gasket a big deal?? Can it be done by a reasonably handy lad?

Yes the door gasket is easy to change. You can do it.

Do you have to take the door off to replace the gasket??
