I have a Kenmore Elite Calypso (110.24084200) that now drains as it fills. I’m assuming that the issue is either one of the control boards or a solenoid (which I can’t find). I already bought a pump I don’t need and don’t want to buy other unneeded parts.
Hello I'm Larry and I will use all my training and knowledge of 40 years to help you with your Problem today ,, thankspull the drain hose up to the top of the drain pipe and start the washer, tell me if it fills and starts to wash and let me know and this will help figure the problem ,, thanks
I don't fully understand what you are asking me to do.
The drain hose currently drains into a pipe well above the washer. The water litterally is being pumped out the drain as it's filling through the detergent compartment.
Thanks,
Brad
if the drain hose is sealed around the hose where it goes into the pipe and very tight then it will suck the water out of the washer as it fills, if the hose is sealed then make sure its loose and only about 6 inches of it is down into the pipe
It's not tight and has been in this location for years. I actually pulled it out to verify that it was pumping and it is.
ok thanks ,, this will be the control board inside the control panel then, i like to always be sure its not something simple first, the part number for the board is(NNN) NNN-NNNNwhich cost about $149 and you can get it at a local appliance parts dealer near you, we gave it a shot to save money but was no good, sorry for the bad news
How confident in that diagnosis are you?
98% sure ,, i never say 100% because anything can happen ,, thanks
Can you suggest a place online to buy the part?
Can you explain why you know it's the control panel? Is there a solenoid that it activates that controls where the motor pumps the water? Into the agitator vs the drain?
its suppling power to the pump at all times so it will not let it fill to wash and here is a link to order it ,, thankshttp://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-number/8571359/0026/110?pathTaken=directMatch&filterPart=&pop=flush&prst=0&shdPart=8571359
I replaced the control panel and it didn't fix the issue....what else could it be?
It looks like you sent me a link to the wrong board. The other board actually connects to the pump. For some reason both the supply and the drain connections have power all the time.
Relist: Inaccurate answer. The part the expert told me was 98% the problem was not. I'd like him to confirm that the other part should solve my issue.
does this look like the other board that you need

Yes. That is the board that the pump motor plugs into. did you mistakenly send me a link to the wrong board?
it must have came up with the wrong part number for some reason, if you get the board from the link i sent then send it back and they will give you a full refund and order the other board ,, sorry for the mix up from the site ,,, the part number for that one is 8541034
Unfortunately I purchased a used one on eBay and can't send it back. I appreciate your honesty though.
thats why i try to send people to the site i send, they will get a refund with no problem ,, do you want the link to it for this board?
I ordered one from eBay. At less than 1/2 the cost of Sears, I'll take the risk.
ok ,, you have a good evening
