Model number is XXXXX Towards the end of the self clean cycle the number F9 pops up and I have to switch the off button for it to go off.,

Does the clean cycle initiate and then code out or does it code before it cleans?

Customer replied 245 days and 8 hours ago.

The cycle starts and towards the end the code comes on.,

Great, thank you. The F9 in most GE cooking products means an issue with the door lock. However, since it cleans, I am not so sure that is the case this time. The model you posted is not a good GE model number. Can you please double check it for me?

Customer replied 245 days and 8 hours ago.

sorry, that's what is written on the front side of the oven door. there are some numbers at the bottom of the oven that I can not read very well. maybe JCK915-27 & or JCT915-30 single wall oven.

Customer replied 245 days and 8 hours ago.

Kelly, thank you for help. I was worried about burning the place down but if it is an issue with the door, then I will be more careful next time. sorry I am bait slow. Still trying to get the hang of my new iPad.,

Great! That is the number I needed. There is a screen in behind the control area that is plugged. It is number 49 in the picture below. It will need to be removed or cleaned. I will follow with instructions.

Flip the breaker to the oven off. Open the door and remove the screws (number 875) under the panel (number 1) and lift the panel up and lean it forward. This will get you access to the screen. I remove the screen entirely but you can clean it, if you would rather. The screen is put in from the back of the oven, so it will need to be pulled from the cabinet to remove it without cutting it. That is why I use scissors and cut it out. It is there as a smoke inhibitor but does not work. It gets plugged and causes problems but does not eliminate the smoke. Once the screen is removed, the fan can again move ample air and the F9 will no longer appear during clean. Please let me know if you have additional questions or need clarification. There is no additional charge for any follow up help!
