Customer Question

I have a oven range Imperial IR-6; it's connected to propane - do not know if it's for nat or propane; name plate is burned out; I have issues with the oven - thermostat is not regulating the temperature - it keeps heating and heating; so I replaced the safety valve and the thermostat (parts no IMP1110 and IMP1150) and I cannot calibrate the thermostat ... it's doing the same; no matter what's the set temp on thermostat, will heat up over 500F; The question is how you calibrate the thermostat and how will affect it the fact that is on propane? Thanks, Dan.

Hello and thank you for using this service,

The problem is the unit is set up for natural, when this happens the flame can never die down enough to work correctly as natural orifices are a lot larger. You would need to get the unit converted to propane to work correctly. You did not need the parts you put in I am afraid to say. Just get a propane conversion kit and it will work fine.
