dryer does not dry.

Robert :

Hello Bob.

Robert :

Do you have a model number for your dryer?

Robert :

This will allow me to provide you with breakdowns and part numbers if you need them. Just let me know when you can get it for me.

Customer:

model no. mdg5500aww

Robert :

Great! Let me pull that up.

Robert :

Do you have a voltmeter and are you pretty handy?

Customer:

yes

Robert :

This could be a couple of things on your unit but I think you should start by testing the igniter on the unit. Do you know how to open the dryer up?

Customer:

no

Robert :

I will post a link that will show you how to open it up. Be sure you unplug it first. This video will show you how to open a washer and dryer that are your style. They both open the same way.

Robert :

Once open, you will be able to locate the heater assembly on your dryer. Number 4 in the picture below is the igniter.

Robert :

Once you locate the igniter you can use this video to learn how to test it.
