I have a Frigidaire convection oven with the flat cooking top. Yesterday while using it my stove top stopped heating as well as my oven. The clock and lights continue to work and the breaker isnt blown either. Why wont the oven work or the cook top work?
Optional Information: Brand: Frigidaire Type of Appliance: Oven & Range Already Tried: turning then braker off and then on to make sure it wasnt a blown breaker. Checked the light to see if it was off or on when the oven door opened and it is still working. Turned the burner knobs to see what happenes and the lights all come on but the burners dont heat up and checked the clock and it is still working and keeping time

May I have the units model number to better assist you . If you open the door it will be on the units face frame .

from what you are saying the oven and cooktop do not heat but you have lights .
It sounds as if you are only getting partial voltage to the oven .
Do you have a volt-ohm meter to check the incoming voltage to the range?
I have no idea as hubby is at work and I am trying to figure out what is wrong as it is only a little over a year old. If we do have one and we test it and it is only getting partial voltage what would need to be done?
then you have a houshold electrical issue .
Could be a loose wire in the wall , a loose connection, or even a bad breaker .
And everything else electrical works fine in the house correct??
yes everything else is fine but we do have the old breakers that need to be replaced every so often
that could be it the oven has to have 240 volts to it to heat both oven elements and the cooktop elements ,but the lights and controls all just run on 120 volts
Have him check the voltage to the range where the cord attaches to the oven ,if you still need help even after you rate me I will help you even days later .
Since I am new and this is my first time using the service, how would I contact you if I need further assistance after we check all the volts and all that?
