I think my wife was cooking. She thought it was a breaker.
Had it been running for an extended period before it shut off?
No basic use .
Okay, the fuse has likely opened due to a faulty monitor switch. There may have been other issues, but very unlikely. Do you have a meter to test with?
Yes, I know older microwaves had a ceramic fuse in them that would go out ,would this be the same? I have not opened it up yet getting to it know.
Yup, exactly the same! They usually blow due to a faulty monitor switch or a door latch issue. The fuse is number 21 in the diagram, accessed by removing the screw at the top of the control panel and lifting the panel and hinging it forward.
changed fuse still nothing
my wife said she was not using it when it stopped working. she said the clock kept resetting for a day then it just lost all functions.
Is the display totally dead now? It sounds like the control is faulty. Do you have 120 VAC at the fuse on both sides?
yes display is dead , no 120 at fuse.
Are you sure the outlet is live?
yes
yes also made sure cord was hot when plugged in
checked voltage at fuse with a differnt tester it is hot sorry
