I have a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator, Model No. 795.78549.805. While cleaning it today, I accidentally brushed my belly against the control panel; and now the refrigerator is off. I cannot get the controls to respond. I see on this website..."How to Reset a Sears Refrigerator"...the instructions to reset it; however, Step 1 says to hold down the Ultra Ice and Home Buttons simultaneously for five seconds to turn off the controls. My control panel does not have a Home Button. Can you please help me? I will surely appreciate it!
Brand: Kenmore Elite
Type of Appliance: Refrigerator
Everything possible...that I know of. I cannot get the controls to respond.
Hello, and thank you for using this service. I'll be helping you with your problem today. What does the display panel say on it exactly? Does it say "OFF"?
In the Freezer Temp Spot, itb shows o, and in the Refrigerator Temp Spot it shows FF.
OK perfect. The unit was just turned off by pressing and holding the refrigerator or freezer temperature button for too long. Just press and hold the refrigerator temperature button or the freezer temperature button for 5 seconds and one of them should turn the refrigerator back on.
I have tried holding down each of those buttons separately for five or more seconds. That does not work. In each case, the screen only goes dark. I've also tried holding them down together, at the same time, for five or more seconds. That does not work, either.
Never Mind...I held down the Ultra Ice Button and the Refrigerator Temp Button simultaneously for five seconds, and the refrigerator came back on at original settings!
I no longer require your service. Please cancel my order, and make sure that I am not charged.
P.S. Just so you folks will know the next time someone needs an answer for my same problem...Holding down the Ultra Ice Button and Refrigerator Temp Button simultaneously for five seconds, only works with the left side door (control panel door) open.
Just wanted to make sure that you received my complete final reply. Please See Italics Below.
