I have a Kenmore smooth top range, Model# XXXXX The oven seems not to be baking like it should. Cakes and bake goods do not bake properly. Do not know if it might be a burner or the temp control.

if you were to set it at 450.it will only get to around 400?

Not sure what the temp is getting too. When we bake cakes the top gets brown but the middle does not get cooked. Seems like it is not getting hot enough or if the burners are working properly.

ok the temperature sensor is a common problem.which i would suggest that you replace.

you could set the thermostat at 500 and it could only be getting to 300.

I have changed out the temperature probe with no change. Is there a way to check if the burners are good. Resistance or something.
