I had to turn power off to DW & Disposal circuit to replace dispaosal. Since then the Dish washer does not drain when finished - water remains in bottom after unit stops. Its never had a problem till now. All I have on the unit is a Tech Sheet - part no.(NNN) NNN-NNNNRev. DI am a builder - I installed unit both wiring and drain.
Optional Information: Brand: KitchenAid Type of Appliance: Dishwasher Already Tried: I have turned power to unit of for 10 minutes - reset ??? I have drained unit and allowed to run - empty, full regular wash. Two times - goes through cycles but does not drain at end.Checked float switch, seems mechanically fine.
Hi my name is XXX, X will try and help you with your issue.
This only started to happen after you replaced the garbage disposal is that correct?
yes
Did you remove the knockout from the dishwasher drain port?
Sometimes people forget to do that on a new installation
Not sure, will check, can't believe that could be it but probably is.
I am talking about the knockout that is on the disposer that the dishwasher drain hooks up to
It's actually quite common
I use a nut driver or big scre driver and a hammer to knock it out
Thats it - what do you expect from a builder, Thanks Tim.
