How to remove coins that are stuck inside the plastic agitator paddles attached to the drum on a front loader WHirlpool Duet washer model WFW9400SZ02
Optional Information: Brand: whirlpool Type of Appliance: Washer Already Tried: N/A
Hello, and thank you for using this service. I'll be helping you with your problem today.THis is a really major job unfortunately. The plastic agitators are attached by a screw coming in from the outside of the inner tub, so to remove the coins the entire tube needs to be split apart and the inner tub needs to be removed to remove the screw so that you can remove the plastic paddle. Below is a picture so you can see where the screw attaches. Now, if you really want to go through with this repair, below is a video that shows you how to take the washer apart so that you can remove the tub and split it apart so that you may finally remove the baffle to take the coins out---it's a half day job if you're handy just to remove the coins. There is no harm in leaving the coins there but it's quite annoying as you have likely noticed.CLICK HERE for videoAll I ask of you is to please rate me with one of the top 3 ratings. Thanks for the reply - it is exactly what I needed. I have a follow up question: the baffle seems a bit loose and moves under slight pressure. Is it possible for the screw to come loose and cause bigger trouble - or it is OK to leave the baffle slightly loose until I can get to it? P.S. My browser is an older version so I could not see the rating links, I had to switch to another one to be able to see this reply window and the rankings - that's why I asked this question a minute ago as a "new " question
If the screw does come loose, it will end up in the drain catch before the drain pump, so this should not cause any other issue. You should be able to leave the baffle loose and it'll be fine until you replace it.
Thanks a lot, excellent service!
no problem and good luck to you.
