Nothing. Is it difficult to replace for a novice
nothing. will not close, so is it difficult to replace for a novice or should I request service
Not at all! You will simply need to open the door and remove the wire spring from around the rubber door boot. Fold the boot back on the RH side to access the door switch. All of the wires plug in and you can't get them wrong because they are specific to each plug. The door lock is available at the link below!

not sure where rubber door boot is.
The big gray rubber ring in the door opening. It is pictured below....Remove the wire from the front of it by folding the thin flap of rubber back on the bottom to expose the spring. Grab the end of the spring with a pair of needle nosed pliers and pull it off. Fold the RH side in to access the door switch.Rating my answer "OK or better" is the only way I receive credit for helping you. My ring has been serviced before and does not release as you describe. will have to get a technician but appreciate your instructions.
It does, you just need to remove the wire from around the front edge of the rubber ring. It is very easy to do.
