My Neptune washer stops with "8" minutes left on it. Nothing (button pushing, power shut downs) seems to work. It's locked up and I can hear/feel water at the bottom. No error codes show up. Suggestions for a "do it yoursefler")?
Hi. I'm Smitty. I am a professional appliance repair consultant here to help you diagnose, and repair, your appliance.First unplug the unit for a few minuets. Plug it back in and try it again. If that does not work then I will need the units model number to look up specific diagnostics for you. Thank you.
MAH-1 no problem
I need the complete number please.
It will be something like MAH1000AWW or similar.
MAH 5500 BWW
Sorry for the delay. I was with another customer.
One moment and I will look up the information for you.
Thank you.
Smitthy, should we resume later after you have more opprortunity to research... ?
Remove the hoses from the back of the unit and check the filter screens. If they are restricted then this may be the problem.
The 8 is the 8 minuets that the control allows for the unit to fill. If the water level switch does not see the water rising it shuts off the applinace until it can be serviced and the fault repaired.
Let me know if they are clear.
No, I am just not a fast typer is all.
If they were plugged just clean them out and problem solved.
If they were clear you need to check for error codes stored in the control boards memory.
To do that:
Press and hold the Delicates and Heavy soil for three seconds. This will put the unit into the diagnostics mode. Press the Presoak key and you should see a "d" in the screen. You can now use the up and down arrow keys to cycle through all error codes stored. Please write them down and post them. I will get the translations and let you know what you need to do next.
If you would like any additional information or have more questions please don't hesitate to ask!
IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ.You should NEVER have to use use either "Helped a little" or "I expected more", unless you feel that I really screwed up the answer. Both leave a permanent black mark on my customer satisfaction rating. Instead, please reply to me via the REPLY or CONTINUE CONVERSATION button and I will do anything short of lie to you or commit a homicide to make you happy.Thank you, Smitty

The error codes are 24, 10, 17
10 and 17 are no big thing. 10 just says that the basket never gor up to top spin speed. 17 is the door. The door must be opened between loads or this error code is set, but it is only viewable if you know how to pull the error codes. Sounds a little fishy on this one. Good way to get the techs out to ytour home to upsell you on sometnjing else. But thats good business.
The first one is a concern. It says that the motor tach signal was seen at over the motors rated speed. This indicates a bad motor control board.
Press the heavy soil and presoak to clear the error codes. Try running another load and see if the unit fails again. Sometimes clearing th ecodes will allow the unit tyo start working again.
Kind of like my computer this morning. Fired it up and it says no hard drive detected =(
After about 8 or 9 reboots it started working again. Go figure =/
Did it all. It stopped at 8 minutes.
Ok. Please check for error codes again.
no error codes. after timing out it went back to "8"
Let me consult with a couple other experts. I want to get a second opinion before I recommend which component to replace.
I will post as soon as possible.
Thank you!
you ar welcome. =)
Ii spoke with another expoert and he thinks that the pressure switch may have a plugged hose nipple or the hose is restriucted.
What yuou need to do is inspect it and see if it is.
To do that you will have to take off th efront of the unit. Give me a few minuets and I will get you the information to do that.
Got it. Gotta go out. Back later tonight.
David
No problem David.
I may not be here but this should keep you busy for a bit anyways.
The acess is simple actually. Open the door. There are 4 screws holding the front panel on. Remove them and the panel comes off.
The pressure switch is on top of the drain pump. Pull the hose off and blow through it. It should be clear and free of kinks.
Inspect the nipple that the hose goes onto. It also needs to be clear.
If they are both ok then pull the hose between the tub and the pump. Check for any debris in it.
NOTE: When you pull the hose any water still in the unit will come out. Have a shop vac or plenty of rags on hand.
You can stick your finget in the pump to turn ther impellar. Make sure it spins freely with just a little resistance.
If everything iis good try another load. If it stops again let me know
