your waveguide cover should not have a hole in it. this is what it should look like.

Waveguide Cover PCOVPB073MRP0 Main Product View you need to replace it if it has a hole. this directs the microwaves and if it has a hole the microwaves are not being directed throughout the microwave cavity which will damage the magnetron if left like that. you can order a new waveguide at the link below for $7.55
