Customer: replied 2 years ago.
yes
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
also buzzes if you try to turn it on with the door open
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
thats a $200 part, are you sure???
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 2 years ago.

yes it is the brain of the unit .

it is what gives power to the motor after you press the start button.

And we know that the door switch is good .

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Ok I'll order it. Assume I pay you after I install the part and find my dryer works?
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 2 years ago.

No you are paying me for Just the Answer to your question .

But if you accept to day and still have an issue after or during the part installation I will still assist you .

How do I know you answered my question till I install the part? Not trying to be rude but I'm not paying till my dryer is working. I see the url takes me right back here so...part is shipping tomorrow. Be here in 5 days at most...I'll hit that url and pay if things work.
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 2 years ago.
That is up to you !
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
that part did not fix my dryer...still just clicks...
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 2 years ago.
Ok do you have a Volt-Ohm meter to test voltage?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
yes
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 2 years ago.

Ok you will need to raise the top up to gain access to the top of the cabinet ,on the rear top left corner you have a thermal fuse ,that might have opened up .

you are looking at number 505 in this link .

http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PLDM/GR708385-00006.png

unplug the unit and check that thermal fuse for continuity , you can also take the wires off the thermal fuse put them togeather and plug the dryer back in and try to run the unit .

Let me know what you find ,this fuse will only go open if the unit has overheated !

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
thermal fuse tests out fine. Connected wires and tried it just to be sure...still did not work
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 2 years ago.
ok door switch is good ,control is new , thermal fuse is bypassed while you have the top open is the belt broken ?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
nope...
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 2 years ago.

ok so door switch good ,new control thermal fuse bypassed ,belt ok .

And we are sure that you have proper voltage to the unit ,due to the interior light comes on .

So it has to be the motor .

Here is a link to the part .

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-number/GE-Parts/Dryer-Parts/WE17M31/0026/363/Model-DBVH512EF0W W/0432/0151200?keySuffixId=NA&pathTaken=partSearch&pathRender=modelComponent&documentCompId=GR708385&diagramPageId=00005&productTypeId=0151200&searchModelNumber=DBVH512EF0WW&subCompDesc=Blower%20&%20motor&brandDesc=GE&modelDesc=ELECTRIC-DRYER&blt=11&shdMod=DBVH512EF0WW

Soory It is very difficult to prperly diagnosis over the computer.

And the part that we now change the most is the controls

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
any way to test that the motor is getting power?
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 2 years ago.

Sure check voltage from the belt switch lead to the motor .

Check that lead to ground with the control programmed and the thermal fuse wires back on .
