Customer Question

I have a 8 year old GE Profile gas range. I used the self-cleaning oven feature yesterday.The cycle is complete and the door is unlocked.However,the locked door light is blinking and so I can not use the oven.I have tried hitting clear.Basically,the oven thinks the door is locked even though it is not.Is there a way to reset this?

Hello, and thank you for using this service. I'll be helping you with your problem today.

There are a few things you can do to try and reset the door latch, but GE oven door latches in general tend to fail often so I wouldn't be surprized if you need to replace the door latch assembly. Try turning the breaker off to the unit for 60 seconds to see if it will reset. If not, then try to set the self clean, wait 60 seconds and cancel it to see if that will reset the door latch assembly. If nothing resets the door lock, then you just need to order and replace the door latch assembly in order to fix the issue.
