I have a Cabrio Top Load washer. The door lock tab has broken off. I only need the washer for two more weeks. Is there a way to bypass the door lock so I can use the machine?
Optional Information: Brand: Whirlpool Type of Appliance: Washer Already Tried: Disconnected/disassembled switch and glued the tab back into place. Permanently messed up switch.

How many wires are there on the switch and what colors are they ?
6: Orange, White, Blue, Brown, Black, Green
You need to follow the wires back to where they start at the control. Then if you attach #s 4,5,7 together that should operate the machine. Unfortunately the wire diagram is not color coded.
I traced wire bundle back to control. Bundle terminated into a plug. I pulled wires 4,5, and 7 (Green, Blue, and Black) out of the plug and spliced together. I then reconnected the plug. My fault code changed from a dL to a dU but the machine still doesn't work. Any ideas?
That is just another door lock failure the computer is not sure if the door is locked or not. I was afraid the computer would not allow this bypass. Being a computer it looks like you will have to actually replace the lock.
