I have a Viking Professional refrig with the pull out freezer on bottom. The shut off arm in the ice maker (really just a wire) wasn't controlling how much ice was being made and now the wire has come out and so the ice maker just keeps making ice
Hello, and thank you for using this service. I'll be helping you with your problem today.Try pushing the wire arm back into the icemaker head. Below is a link to a picture that will show you how the wire arm should be pushed into the icemaker so it's seated properly. If it won't push in, then you'll need to order a new icemaker. Viking just uses a Whirlpool made icemaker so just order part(NNN) NNN-NNNNand it will only cost about $100 instead of Viking charging $300 for their icemaker that they just re-wrap.CLICK HERE for picture
is there any way to just order a new wire arm? the one i have is pretty bent out of shape and does not look like the one in the picture you sent. I will try pushing it back as the picture shows, especially on the right side, where the wire is pushed in back of the whole, instead of in front, which may help. but ideally i'd like to just replace the wire arm without replacing the whole ice maker. Is that possible?
yes, you can order just a new wire arm. Below is a link to the wire arm you'd need to order if the arm is just bent.CLICK HEREIt says kenmore, but it's made by Whirlpool and also works for your Viking icemaker.
