Our Amana French door refrigerator (5 years old) has suddenly developed spasms of some sort. It isn't cooling/running but it's ice shute door is flopping open and shut. We didn't know there was anything wrong until we got home this evening. Help.

I took everything out of it and put it in our spare refrigerator (which cost less than $200 10 years ago and is still working). The extended warranty was up either in April 2011 or last month, I can't remember which.
