MY dryer heats up, but shuts down after a few minutes. After it sits for a while it will start back up, but then go off again after a few minutes.

okay , when this shuts off will it start immediately or do you have to wait 5-10 minutes before it will start again ?

this means the motor overload is kicking off. once it cools it resets and you are able to restart the dryer. it means the motor is bad and overheating. the motor needs to be replaced. heres a link to order the motor and theres a video there to show you how to replace it. http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Drive-Motor/131560100/407697?modelNumber=GLER642AS3 thanks and best wishes, Bryan
