I have a Kitchenaid Model KEMC308K microwave oven combo. The control went totaly blank after a power outage, and after checking the 20 amp and 15 amp fuses I replaced the controller circut board. Everything worked when turned on but when I tried to start the microwave it displayed "door". I have checked all of the thermal fuses and the door switches, is there something else that could cause the problem.

Welcome to Just Answer..This unit is a very difficult unit to work on as you probably already found out..If the switches check out ok..You replaced the circuit board..Then you will need to replace the switch holder..Most common fault is the left holder as facing from the front..You will notice the round disc which releases pressure once the door is closed..Replace the holder and you will be back up and running again..That is if the door switches and the fuses all test good..MASTERTECH41041.165184838
Thanks for your quick reply. I rechecked the the ternimals on both door switches with my multimeter and there is continuity through the correct pairs on both sides when the door is closed. Also, the microwave oven light turns on and off with the openning and closing of the door. Could there be a problem with the new circut board?
Not likely..The problem could be within the wire harness from the switches to the board..Like i said before a common problem is with the switch holder..I only know this because of earlier stages when this unit first came out i had a difficult time pin pointing the problem..Turned out to be the left holder with the pressure release .Thanks Bob
