I have magic chef stove mod#CGR3765ADC Set oven temp, burner

Resolved Question:

I have magic chef stove mod#CGR3765ADC
Set oven temp, burner comes on normally and gets up to temp.
When it calls for more heat the burner half lights , not lit on igniitor side and
continues to go on off like this til it gets back to temp, with a gas odor.
What can be the cause?
I just installed new oven sensor (was not the problem)

Hi,Welcome to Just Answer, My name is XXXXX XXXXX forward to helping you today

If this lights normally at the beginning of the preheat and the burner lights completely (both sides) then you igniter is weak. once the oven gets hot the igniter tends to not draw enough amps to open the safety valve completely and the igniter isn't strong enough to light both side of the need to replace the igniter . the other thing you may need to do once you replace the igniter is to open up the orifice a small amount to even the flame on the burner. however this may not need to be done. the only way to tell is replace the igniter and see what the flame looks like at that point.
