HE3 washer has worked fine in current location for several years. This time no lights appear when trying to start wash cycle. I verified the power at the outlet. Is there a reset switch or fuse to check anywhere on the unit?
Optional Information: Brand: Kenmore HE3 Type of Appliance: Washer Already Tried: Verified power at the outlet, Pushed Pause/Cancel button twice, unplugged/plugged in unit, opened/closed door firmly and still no lights come on when starting operating cycle.
Hi, thanks for using JustAnswer.com. Please remember, I do not get paid for my time and expertise until you accept. With no lights at all and the power verified at the wall, you likely have a control issue. Leaving it unplugged for a minimum of about 5 minuted should reset the control. If nothing, it will likely need to be replaced. May I please have your model number so I am able to provide you with accurate, model specific information?Kelly

Thank you! Do you have a meter to test voltage with?

Okay, so the main CCU is likely faulty. It is accessed by removing the three screws from the back of the top panel and sliding that panel back and lifting it off. Once the top panel is off, you will have full access to the CCU, number 15 in the breakdown, pictured below. Unplug the washer, remove each connector from the CCU and replace, one at a time, and see if it comes back to life.
That will take a while to accomplish. How do I reconnect to you in case I lose internet connection while I'm doing this?
You can refer back to this thread at any time. Just follow a link in your email if you get disconnected.
Access to the CCU on this particular model was a little more complicated than that but I finally got to it. Nothing visible like anything fried. Disconnected and reconnected everything. Still no lights when I plug in and try the wash cycle buttons. Time to take it to the service center? I can't find the ACCEPT button in anything in this thread to release your payment. This was still worthwhile rather than being at the mercy of the service center. Thanks.
YOu may be wise to take it in for service. The control is very expensive.
