Hi, I put a load of clothes into my Maytag Bravos 400s electric steam dryer and I turned on and off and then back on but now it's been several hours and there is just no power coming to the display or anything as far as I can tell to the dryer. I checked the breakers and made sure all the power connections seem to be right
Optional Information: Brand: Maytag Type of Appliance: Dryer Already Tried: Flipping the breakers on and off and making sure the power cord is plugged in correctly to the wall and unit. It worked fine just this morning.

Relist: Incomplete answer.I didn't get an aswer
OkI am very familiar with the model dryer you have. First you will need to check the thermal fuse on the machine. If it is not operating or no lights come on at all Then that is the most likely part to fail. And the most common. To check the thermal fuse you will need a multi meter with continuity check on it.If you have that and a putty knife and a 1/4 and 5/16 nut driver or socket wrench the you cancheckthis dryer properly. And after we determine the cause ofthe failure. Which again, is most likely the fuse, then I can show you where to get parts for this machine and how to repair it.Which will save you money and time.
Why are you resisting the answer? I am trying to help you.Do you not see my answers?
Yes, I see them. I've just been running downstairs to the laundry machine each timeSo it says MOD medb800yg0thenSER my4919628And if it's a fuse issue, yes I will need instructions
No, I'm not resisting it, I want the answer that's why I choose to pay for it. But I don't know a thing about taking the dryer apart
I will get a multi meter but what do I open up to see the thermal fuse?
Here is the answer again. You will need to remove the front and top panels to check the thermal fuse located on the left top side of the blower wheel. It is a fuse that has two wires going to it. And it will need to be checked with a multi meter that has a continuity check on it.First before working on this machine, unplug it from the wall and power source. Then take a putty knife and unclip thtension lamps located just above the door I between the front and top panels. They are located about six inches in from the left and right side of the top of the front panel. Again, just above the door. Push each clip in while pulling the top panel up. The top panel will disconnect and unhook from the the front panel. It will just fold and pivot towards the back of the machine. Just rest it against the wall. The next, on the inside of the front panel there will be two 5/16 screws that are holding the front panel on. They need to be removed to remove the front panel. So just unscrew them and remove the front panel. After the front panel is removed you should see inside the machine and down below the drum is the blower wheel . it looks like a round flat wheel with a pulley and belt on top of it. And on the left side of the top of the blower wheel housing you will see a fuse that ha two wire going to it. That isthe thermal fuse for the dryer. And that's what you need to check. So remove the wires and check with your meter on continuity. If you have no continuity then you need to replace the fuse.If toy have continuity then then you need to replace the control board. The part number for the fuse is(NNN) NNN-NNNNand should cost about $18. The part number for the control board is w10111620 and should cost about $320. Both parts can be ordered from either www.marcone.com or www.searspartsdirect.comPlease email me back here of to need any more help or have any other questions and I will help you more. Thanks
I apologize for the confusion here. But it looks like there is a big delay in the chat responses. There must be a problem with the website. Iam not getting your responses back to me until much later. Like ten minutes. So I didn't see that you had answered me. Again, I am sorry. Here are a few videos that will help you check the fuse and take the dryer appart to check it. Please note that the dryers in the videos may not netHe same exact model as the one you have. But most dryers are the same when it comes to the thermal fuse checking. So please use the first video for that purpose and the second to just see how to take the dryer appart to check the fuse. Just watch until he takes the top and front panels appart. The rest of the second video will not pertain to you here.http://www.repairclinic.com/Video/Video-Library/8http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2bVoelV7M7YPlease high light and right click onthe videos one ate time to open and view. Please start with the first one. It will show you how to properly check a thermal fuse. And the fuse in the video may look a little different in you model but can be checked the same way. It may just look roundish instead of longer and thin. The second video will show you how to pull up the top panel and remove the front panel to gain access to the blower wheel where the fuse is. Please email me back here of you have any other questions or concerns with this machine and I will help you more. And for no additional charge.Thanks. And again, I am sorry for the confusion and delay of the posts and responses.

I am sorry but I don't understand your response. It just says one.Can you elaborate?
I have one more question, You'e giving me most the answerers but if I hire a maytag repar person and tell them what you told me, how much should a good repair, or reputable place charge me? If they just need to put in the fuse, becuase the light inside the dryer doesnt stay on, so I dout it's the control panel unless the control panel have anything to do with that, so basically how much should an honest place charge me to replace the thermal fuse oh and I don't know why I replied one.
An honest and reputable place should charge you about $150-$250 for the job. Including parts and labor. And if the machine is under one year old. It will be covered under the original manufacturer warranty. Andi that case, call the directly and they will send someone to you to fix it free of charge. But if the machine is over a year old then call a repair company to do the work for you. It may be worth it if you feel that you can't do the work yourself. It would most likely cost about $175 to do this kind of job.And have the check the terminal blocks wires coming into the machine to. Since you're saying there is no light in the machine.
And if you want to savethemost money you could always order the parts either at your local appliance parts store or on line and give them to the repair company to install. That way they don't overcharge you for the parts. Just the laborIf you can find a company to do that they should charge you about $100 for the labor. Just giving you some cheaper options here.
Thank you again for accepting my answer. I am glad I could help you today. Please again, feel free to email me back here at any time if you have any other questions or concerns and I can help you more. And for no additional charge. Thanks again.Jon Grella41037.1356525463
