Hello, my name is XXXXXX XXXX is not good news. Does your model number begin with 110? If so this is a whirlpool duet. That code means either a bad CCU, MCU, door switch, or the harness that connects the CCU and MCU is bad. I have ran into this problem multiple, multiple times and there is no sure way to know exactly what is wrong. We can look at the MCU and CCU and the harness and see if there are any burn marks. Burn marks indicate bad parts.

Yeah, I am going to opt out because honestly its a crap shoot on this unit when that code appears. I have done over 50 of these repairs and I always tell the customers the same thing.

Does the door lock after you hit start ?
door does not lock
the loud clicking noise is most likely the door lock trying to activate, this part is common to fail.

as far as instructions for replacement of part
1. remove the three screws from the top backside of the top panel 2. push the top panel to the rear 1/8 to 1/4 inch3. lift/rotate top panel from rear to front, set aside.4. remove the three wire connectors from latch.5. use #15 Torx to remove the three screws from the latch.6. remove and replace part using top opening.7. reverse order to finish
