dryer drum does not turn, belt is not broken, humming noise when start button is held in on position
Hello, and thank you for using this service. I'll be helping you with your problem today.

if you hear a humming noise when you press the start button, that means that the motor is getting power and should turn. There are only 2 reasons why the motor wouldn't move, either the motor has failed, or something is jamming the drum. If you can still turn the drum by hand, then unfortunately you need to order and replace the motor because it has failed for one reason or another.

Customer: replied 4 years ago.
the wiring to the motor goes to a small black box. is this some sort of fuse type device i can replace first before i replace the whole motor?
unfortunately not. That is all built into the motor. It's the relay system on the motor and it's not sold separately.
