We have a AMANA refrigerator Model SXD23VL, MFG # XXXXX Our Repair Technician is telling us that we should have some type of top cover for the Ice Maker located inside the freezer compartment. We can clearly sail the need for it and also the guides or railing to accomodate a cover, however...we have never had one. The repair Tech tells us that the ice cubes would form faster. I have been looking at the parts list but cannot identify any kind of ice maker cover that would fit on top of the ice collector / bucket. Can you help and identify if this part 1) exists, 2) if it is recommended to have it installed.Thank you.

I'll be helping you with your problem today.433 in the diagram below is the cover that the appliance repairman is talking about, but the part is no longer made so I'm not sure where you can obtain one.CLICK HEREIt doesn't cover the icemaker itself, but it sits on top of the ice bin and stop all the cold air from flowing out the front and dropping down into the rest of the refrigerator as fast. It also allows you to stack smaller items in the self of the cover.
