Customer Question

I have a whirlpool gold quiet partner III dishwasher that is not quite two years old. the electrical panel at the top has stopped working and i checked the breakers in the fuse box for blown fuses, but none tripped. model number on dishwasher is(NNN) NNN-NNNN there was water left in the bottom when it quit on rinse/dry cycle and I sucked it out. dishwasher does not seem to be getting power or the panel box is broken. Help!

Optional Information:
Brand: whirlpool gold
Type of Appliance: Dishwasher

Already Tried:
seeing if fuse box had tripped circuits and does not. tried holding heated dry button down for five seconds to lock/unlock but that doesnt work either since it appears the selection panel is not recieving power.

Hello, and thank you for using this service. I'll be helping you with your problem today.

If there are no lights on the control panel, then the control is not locked, it's just not getting power for some reason. There are no reset buttons or anything that you can just push to get the dishwasher working again. If you're certain that there is power getting to the dishwasher, remove the kick panel below the dishwasher and look for the 3" x 3" sheet metal box with the wire connections in it. Turn the circuit breaker off to the dishwasher or unplug the dishwasher before servicing. Remove the cover plate and look at the wire connections to see if any of the wires in the junctions box have shorted out. If they have been shorted or melted, you'll need to cut them back and re-wire them. If you find nothing at all wrong with the connections, then your control board is just shorted for one reason or another and the control board inside the door will need to be ordered and replaced.
