I noticed my whirlpool gas range says E2 and -F 3- lock'd. I own a super capacity 465 Accubake sys. It is apparent that my oven door is locked. What do I do to unlock the oven door and get my gas stove reading to be normal which is to see my clock on.....Marilyn XXX-XXX-XXXX if you can call.
Optional Information: Make: Whirlpool gas stove Already Tried: I tried to push the off button. It took away the E2 and F3 notice but kept the locked sign on. I can't tell you what the model number of my stove is except that it says Super Capacity 465. Help... Marilyn XXX-XXX-XXXX
Hello and thank you for using this service. Did you just self clean the oven and is it still hot? Please click Accept and a smiley face as to how I assisted you today....tips are appreciated. Thanks
After seeing the notice E2 F3 lock'd I did push the self clean button to see if the oven door would open...but no help. Oven door was still locked. Then I pushed the off button and in a few minutes, the E2 and F3 sign goes back on with the lock'd sign still in place. My oven is not on. It is not hot.
Alright thanks for the info,The code means the bake temp sensor is reading out of range typically too hot. Now what happens on a lot of these units really ends up having nothing to do with the temp sensor. The clock control has a serious malfunction causing this code and ends up locking the unit. You would have to check the sensor first to see if it reads around 1100 ohms on a meter at room temp. You can access the temp probe by removing the back panel on the oven. It will probably read withing range also check where it connects to the clock. Just pull the plug where it connects to the clock off and put it back on, to make sure it is making good connection. If that all checks out, you will need to replace the clock control to solve this issue.Lastly, you can try to turn the power off to the unit for 1 minute and turn it back on to reset the clock and hopefully clear the code. If it does the door will open. If it does not you need to go through the testing I indicated above. Please click Accept and a smiley face as to how I assisted you today....tips are appreciated. Thanks
I am not able to pull out the oven and check behind the stove. I'd like to try turning the power off to the unit for 1 min. and turn it back on to reset the clock... How do I do this . Do I push the off button which I have already done ... now several times. Or Do I need to turn the power box in my garage off for a min. and reboot? I am at a loss. I live alone and I have a minimal amount of tools. Don't know the right terminology.
You would have to shut it off at the circuit breaker panel if you can not unplug the unit.
I will be gone for a few hours, I will respond back to you if you need something else. It will be in the afternoon. Thanks
Sorry, I guess I don't know enough to implement your answers.... tried turning the kitchen off with the circuit box... then turn it back on.... my gas stove is still on... the E2 and F3 are still on.
You will most likely need a new clock control to solve the issue. I can only tell you what to do as I can not be there to actually do it. Us techs only receive credit when you press Accept and I can only give you instructions on the problem you have and how to go about repairing it. I hope you understand.
