i hav a ge spectra electric slid-in oven from 2002. it seems

Resolved Question:

i hav a ge spectra electric slid-in oven from 2002. it seems to be heating up the door and sides (not the flat top cooking surface) when I turn it on to 350 or above. I never noticed it getting that hot before. Is this common or is there a potential issue with insulation?

Hello, and thank you for using this service. I'll be helping you with your problem today.

That's fairly common and normal. The oven should get "warm" on the side, but not so hot that you can touch it.

The top of the door the, frame above the door, the sides of the door and oven frame itself will get really hot, but that's about it.
