Our GE electric oven/range keeps giving F3 error and shutting

This answer was rated:

Our GE electric oven/range keeps giving F3 error and shutting off. Can we just replace the sensor or do we need to replace the oven?

Tim Alan :

Hi my name isXXXXX can help you.

Tim Alan :

The f3 error code for a GE oven is an open or shorted oven sensor.

Customer:

My husband is a do-it-yourselfer, Googles everything and is pretty good. Do you think he can just buy a sensor and Google it and do it himself or is it trickier?

Tim Alan :

Replacing the oven sensor is the repair for that code. Also check the wiring harness that connects the sensor to the control. In some situations a pinched and or bad wiring will cause that error code also.

Tim Alan :

No there isn't any trick for replacing the sensor, it is simple to do.

Customer:

If I hire someone, about how much do you think it would be, typical house call and all?

Tim Alan :

Service call and labor 120-150

Tim Alan :

and the part 35-50

Customer:
