Hello, and thank you for using this service. I'll be helping you with your problem today.

F2 E1 means that the touchpad isn't responding to the circuit board. Sometimes the touchpad ribbon cable will develope a bad connection when you move it around and change out the control board. Be sure the ribbon cable is securely connected to the board and if it's all secure, then replace the touchpad unfortunately.

what if the ribbon was creased on install

that would definitely break it as it gets older because it becomes brittle. That's actually the most common way that the touchpad fails when you replace the control board.
