I have a viking 36" free standing gas range. Model#VGIC3656BSS. Installed new gas valve & one side does not light but ignitor does glow. There is 120volts at the valve. There is only supposed to be 3volts there. Any suggestions. I tried the new valve before knowing there was 120 volts there. Have I fried the new valve?

Hello my name isXXXXX will be assisting you with your problem today. Lets get started.

master appliance tech :

sounds like you have a bad ignitor.... if you have an amp prob check the amp draw on the ignitor thats working and the one thats not. the working one will open the gas valve at 3.2 amps the other one will be sitting at 3.0 or so amps.
