My Fisher & Paykel dryer DEGX2, is making a flapping/rubbing

Resolved Question:

My Fisher & Paykel dryer DEGX2, is making a flapping/rubbing noise.
The noise happens in forwards and reverce.
The dryer is working normally (except for the noise).
Can you help?

Hello, I can help you with this. This is due to gunk coating the drum bearing. inside the machine on the right side is a allen head and a round cover about 2". Remove the cover to gain access to 5-6 phillips screws. remove those and the plate they go to taking care to pay attention to the direction of the plate. Then you can remove the floating bearing and clean it an the shaft it rides on with a paper towel. Reassemble making sure you do not over-tighten (use hand tools and you should be ok). This will remove/improve the sound. If it doesn't go all the way away you can order the bearing kit part number 479332. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks, Sam
