Wondering why my Maytag dishwasher wont drain. Checked hoses

Customer Question

Wondering why my Maytag dishwasher won't drain. Checked hoses and no kinks. When I press the drain button it drains but have to press it a couple times to get it to completely drain.

I installed this dishwasher about 3 weeks ago.Do you think it would be clogged already?
Expert:  Appliance Man replied 5 years ago.
No. If this is new i would call Maytag to have them fix it since it is under warranty.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Any other suggestions? We are a bit off the beaten path and any serviceman that Maytag would send are at least 2 1/2 hours away and we would probably have to pay for travel.

Remove the lower kick plate. Then remove the drain hose from the front of the pump. Stick a screw drive down the 90 degree elbow of the drain hose.

Seems clear. Just some soapy water.
Expert:  Appliance Man replied 5 years ago.
Yes but put a screw drive down it. There is a back flow preventer that sticks in the 90.

Ok , I think i opened it . Some debris came out.
Expert:  Appliance Man replied 5 years ago.
Ok now try the dishwasher.
