PartSelect User: My dishwasher makes a loud sound (like a belt slipping) in between cycles (it's a guess, but I'd say every 15 or so minutes). Is there a belt that maybe changes direction in there, or is it part of a pump activating or something?
Haven't been able to try anything since it happens inside the machine, during wash cycles. But it's been going on for a year at least.
Hey i will help you. There is no belt on this model. The noise is probably coming from the circulation pump/motor. These will make a noise like what you are hearing. I have replaced lots of these for the same noise issue. It is not to hard to replace . IT just requires pulling the Dishwasher out and tilting it back and removing two screws and the pump will come out. The are 2 o rings that seal it up. The part number for the pump is #154844101 and retails for around 110 dollars. You can order it from marcone .com. Hope this helps and please remember to click accept. Thanks David
Thanks! Is the washer being harmed with continued use meanwhile or is it just an annoying sound that's relatively harmless? Is the washing efficiency diminished? Basically, how much longer can I tolerate the noise without doing real harm to the machine? You know, until I get the cash. ;)
It will start to get louder than it will eventually lock up and will not turn at all. Just keep watching it and if the dishes start coming out real dirty you need to replace it. You might get a few months out of it or a few weeks. Hard to say really. Please remember to click accept so i can be paid for my time helping you. Thanks David
