I have a Hotpoint Mistral Fridge Freezer which I think is about

Customer Question

I have a Hotpoint Mistral Fridge Freezer which I think is about 10 years old.
My upper fridge section has stopped working and is 28 degrees at this
moment! Freezer section is still working normally and showing minus 17 degs.
I'm told it may be a thermostat problem, but don't know where to look for this.

Hi I'm John I will help you with the problem.

From what the temps you gave me the fridge at 28 deg and the freezer at -17 you don't have a problem So could you Explain please.

Customer: replied 5 years ago.

My Freezer is minus 17 degrees, of course no problem here, but the fridge is 28 degrees,
big problem!!!!!! I want ZERO in the fridge of course!
Expert:  John replied 5 years ago.
If you get Zero in the fridge you will freeze everything and a fridge isn't set up to get that cold.

I am not certain where these replies are coming from? America perhaps so maybe
you like warm fridges. Zero you seem not happy with but in uk we are used to between zero and maybe two or thr3ee degrees.
Certainly not28 degrees with my butter stock melting everywhere and milk turning very rapidly!

The vents from the freezer to the fridge could be blocked by frost check the vents and set the fridge setting half way and check it again in a few hours to see if it dropped in temp and let me know please.

Have checked vents as far as possible. They appear to be clear. Don't take any more time over this, I've wasted too much already and I'm calling in a
repair man.
