hello, may i have the model number please
thanks just a minute please
thanks for waiting, can you open and close the lid to see if the lid switch clicks please
doesn't sound like the switch clicks
ok can you push on it with a pin ?
see how far down it goes before you hear a click
tried that already; nothing
ok the lid switch is going to be your problem.
replace the switch and that takes care of your problem
in the meantime, is there a way to by-pass the switch so I can drain the tub?
you sure can.,you would need to splice the wires then twist them together
for the mean time.
do you have a local parts syore in your area?
are you still there?
I haven't taken it apart yet, but are the wires color coded and which ones?
just the two that come from the switch, not the ground wire
which is green
do you see two grey?
I'll look, hang on
Is there a trick to opening the lid, I have never been able to open this one
actually the whole casing comes off .
did you remove the two screws that hold the lid switch inplace
ok now is the switch just hanging
does it look just like this one
I can't see it that well, need to take the top off
ok what may help you is open the control panel.
can you do that
access-2 top screws in the back?
correct,one at each corner?
sorry no remove the ones at the bottom
not the top ones?
O.K., need to get a socket, hang on
actually your just going to need a phillips screwdriver
remove the screws that keep the control panel mounted on the washer
screws are out, just pinch the tabs and the back should come off?
which screws did you remove?
two bottom ones, looks like another one near the top is maybe for a ground?
ok now are you able to slide the whole control panel back n fwd
once you remove the screws ,you should be able to slide the lift the control panel
you mean the whole machine housing, that's what I'm moving.
how are you doing?>
are you still there>
I'm still trying to see it better
ok its pretty easy you are on the right track.do you still need my assistance
I see 2 black wires; is that a plug?
yes ,splice them
coming from the switch?
so I can pull that plug and the piece; switch attached to them is what I need to replace?
yes,replace the swtich
not expensive at all
do you have a local parts store in your area?
about 35 miles
ok not so.bador you can order it online at www.repair clinic.com.
do you have any questions youd like to ask me>
