My bottom load freezer temperature keeps going up and down.

My bottom load freezer temperature keeps going up and down. The freezer does not seal properly??

Hi I'm John I will help you with the freezer problem.

Is the gasket ripped or just not sealing.

Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Just not sealing. If I press the door hard enough, the freezer is able to maintain the temp, but if I just press the freezer close, the temperature starts creeping up.

I was thinking that I need to replace the gasket. But, I'm not sure if it is a gasket problem or something wrong with the drawer mechanism. Would tilting the fridge back a bit help?
Expert:  John replied 5 years ago.

Try cleaning the gasket with hot water and vinegar and adjust the front legs so the freezer door closes by itself .

I don't think you need a new gasket.

the gasket seems to be clean, but I'll try cleaning it again. Thanks.

You can also heat the gasket with a hair blower to soften it up that will help.
