I have a whirlpool duet dryer model number is XXXXX The dryer turns on and lights up but will not run when you push the on button you hear a slight click and then the sensor light illuminates I had a service man come out and he is saying that my main control board is bad and it will cost 300 dollars for the part, obviously more with labor. I have already paid a 69.99 dollar service call What do you think and can you tell me the exact cost of that part
Optional Information: Make: whirlpool Model: gew9200LL1 Already Tried: holding the end of cycle button to unlock and had a repair man here

all i have received is a bunch of technical mumbor jumbo that i can try to sort through is there such thing as a main control board and most importantly I need to know what the cost of one is
Yes there is a main control board on these units. The tech sheet I linked you to has diagnostic information that will help you determine if it is indeed the control board or something else (possibly a bad motor) that is the problem. One moment and I will get you the price information for the control board.
all i have received from you is a bunch of technical pages that i do not have time to do at the moment I really wanted to know if there is such a part called the main control board and if it was bad would anything light up on the dryer also what is the cost of a main controll board for this particular model
Getting this information now. Please stand by.
thank you
could it just be a sensor fuse
Please click here to order the new control board. $181.94 +S&H
I am sorry but these units do not have a fuse that would cause the problem you have. there is a thermal fuse but the unit would still run. It just wouldnt heat up.
this is the one that fits my model #? what do you suggest i do with the service repair man who is telling me that piece costs 300
The service person is marking the price of the board up. This is a common practice. You can order the board yourself but you are taking a big chance if this is not the problem. That is why I provided you with the diagnostics information. I highly recommend that you run the diagnostics before you purchase such an expensive (non returnable) part.
Yes this is the one for your particular model.
thank you for everything
