This answer was rated:

What are the steps to replace the inlet water control valve module. I have the part.
Washer model # XXXXX

Robert :

Hello.

Robert :

Are you pretty handy with tools?

JACUSTOMER-9cxpfw75- :

Yes

Robert :

Ok. I have a video link that will show you how to get the unit open.

JACUSTOMER-9cxpfw75- :

Ok

Robert :

It does not show you how to get the vavle out but it will show you how to get into the unit alot easier than me typing it to you.

Robert :

The water valve will be in the back corner of the washer and, once you see it, you will see how easy it is to repair.

Robert :

Getting to it was the hard part.

JACUSTOMER-9cxpfw75- :

I will watch this and get back to you, ok?

Robert :

No problem.

JACUSTOMER-9cxpfw75- :

I am going to do what was in the video. Will the valve be accessible then?

Robert :

Yes. It will be directly behind the soap dispenser area and fairly easy to reach. Sorry about the delay. The site(on our end) went down temporarily.

Customer:

Ok. My computer did an update and restart..I installed the new valve, seemed to go ok. the washer still only lets in hot water water, regardless of the setting.

Customer:

before it also would not shut off incoming water automatically. I will call Maytag again tomorrow and start over.

Only letting in hot water is probably an issue with the temp selector switch. This is what regulates the temp and tells the unit what to use. If you need more information just let me know. I will be glad to continue helping you.
