I own a frigidairie gallery professional series refrigerator

Resolved Question:

I own a frigidairie gallery professional series refrigerator ( approx 10 12 years old ) and the ice maker has stopped making ice, Is there any way to turn the ice maker off ? it sounds as if keeps on trying to make ice but nothing comes out.

there is an arm on the side of the ice maker (wire arm) you lift it up all the way to shut this off, if that doesnt work you most likely have a stripped gear in the module, if you can stop it you will need to remove it, there are 2 screws on the top if you look at the picture you can see the hangers the screws do through, and usually there is one on the bottom also, remove those and the unplug the ice maker from the connector, this will completly eliminate the ice maker and water valve from running, hope this helps, thanks Bryan

Does every reply cost me $30.00 ?? If I shut the water off to the ice maker will that stop it from running?? will it damage the refrigerator ??

Know each reply doesn't cost $30.00, when we are finished you need to press the accept button and you will be charged only $30.00, you can't just shut the water off because the icemaker is going to try to keep running it won't damage the refrigerator itself but it will drive you crazy, shut the water off will keep any water from coming in to the icemaker yes but it still going to make noise, like it's trying to run, eventually it'll burnout valve so if you can either shut the icemaker off way I said or take it out this.
