Hello, Thank you for using JustAnswer! If you have any questions after reading my answer,be sure to let me know.
Microwaves are not do it your self projects.
Microwaves store up to 10,000 volts of electricity even when unplugged. And are very dangerous to work on. Every year many DIY selfers are killed trying to save a buck fixing their own microwave. Also once you open the case on a microwave, you need to have a leeak test performed and the tech can do this to make sure it does not leak microwave or radiation after the repair.
You and your family are worth more than the cost of the repair.
This is a very fine machine you have
We sell alot of this model
I disagree on the " fine machine" ....it has historical problems w/magnetrons & Sear/GE gave me a real hard time on warranty/svs contract to fianlly get it fixed...took way too long
Is this the panel with your buttons?
the fan is really noisy & not all that efficient
We sell alot of these microwaves and have had very few problems?
This is the touch pad and it is very expensive to replace.
Item #1042062 (OEM Part)
Touchpad & control panel assembly
WOW, I would replace the microwave first. This must be a typing error.
Let me check this crazy price.
thats hysterical since the machine cost about $600+
Yes, someone must have posted it on the site wrong. give me a minute to comparison shop.
so you saying the whole panel has to be replaced?...thats also crazy
Yes the panel only comes as one piece.
This is crazy. I would not give them that money. I would replace the microwave with a Whirlpool befroe I wound give them $355. plus labor.
The problem is that it comes as one unit and the separate parts can not be swapped out!
I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news!
I agree...would probably cost $500 by the time its done....
thanks for your time
