Basement flood cause Kenmore XXXXXXXXX water heater to fail. Pilot lights, flames come on the go out and pilot then goes out. Friend looking at heater thinks insulation wet which stops air flow in chamber, starving flame of oxygen.

to be honest if the water got above the burner assembly in this your better off replacing the water heater, the burner assembly is going to rust out and that can be dangerous, not to mention the insulation will start to mold which is bad for your health, I would get this replaced, your insurance should cover that, thanks Bryan
