hi is this a duet and are you getting an error code

what cycle or function is the blinking light on

Customer : WHen I turn the dial to each cycle it blinks on that cycle

Customer : Normally it the red light stays solid.

thats a faulty user interface was there a power outage or surge

whirlpool has these issues so much

Customer : Seems like maybe the machine isn't recognizing that the door is closed

that display is blinking if it was the door you would get a fdl error

so the computer board is not responding

you will need to have the user interface replaced which is the one where the dial is at

Customer : Is it something I can install with little difficulty?

i beleve so remove the top panel and the controls will be exposed from there you will see what needs removing
